Exploring Emergence

Formerly television and film CG supervisor, Andy Lomas is a digital artist with a mathematical background and a special interest in morphogenesis. Andy’s recent project, Morphogenetic creations, explores how beauty and complexity can be created emergently using computer-generated​ models. In this TEDx talk, he will show his mesmerizing virtual creations, meanwhile unveiling his unusual, computer-powered artistic process. He won a number of prizes including two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Special Visual Effects. His works were exhibited internationally, including displays at The Royal Society, the SIGGRAPH, and in V&A’s permanent collection.
